EVP's

EVP:

Electronic Voice Phenomenon is the presence of a disembodied voice, found on recording devices such as digital or analog recorders. They can sound like clearly spoken words, growls, hums or even whispers. Some are unintellgible. There is software available on the internet, or in computer retail locations, that can filter out white noise, as well as specific frequencies. Analog recorders are limited in that there is no way to filter the recordings.

An EVP will be any voice (or indiscriminate noise) that cannot be accounted for. An example of such would be:

Investigator 1. "Are you here with us?"   Investigator 2. "What is your name?"    Unnaccounted for voice "I will stay."    Investigator 1. "How are your batteries holding up."

As you see, the voice is not heard at the time of the recording, but is only noticed, or heard, later, upon review of the evidence.

Anyone can collect EVP's, as it is a relatively simple procedure.   Either place your recording device in a stationary position, and walk away from it for a while, or carry it with you, and attempt to interact, by way of verbal interaction with the entity. Listen carefully when reviewing the recording, as they are sometimes hard to hear.

Good luck...
